The Millstone Quarries
Nestled in the heart of Vermont, Barre stands as a testament to the state’s rich history and industrious spirit. Often dubbed “The Granite Capital of the World,” this charming town is surrounded by the remnants of old granite quarries, notably the Millstone Quarry. But there’s more to Barre than just its stone legacy. The Millstone Quarries have evolved over the years, giving birth to a network of intricate mountain bike trails that meander through the rugged terrain, offering riders a unique blend of natural beauty and challenging courses. As the seasons shifted to spring, I found myself in Barre, camera in hand, capturing the essence of this “Blue Collar Town” for Mountain Bike Magazine. While many of my shots graced the pages of their July issue, there were several that remained unseen. So, here’s a glimpse of those few that didn’t make it to print.
