THERE ARE TWO CERTAINTIES IN MY WORLD.
LOVE AND COFFEE.
There are two certainties in my world. Love and Coffee. There’s that bit about death and taxes but meh, it’s Love and Coffee for me.
I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was a few months into dating my wife. Her family, as it turned out, were coffee drinkers. The kind of coffee drinkers that deserves bold type. The kind that if you —meaning me, didn’t drink coffee, it meant you were suspicious. I didn’t want to be suspicious so I started drinking coffee.
So it began.
Coffee is a perfect companion for long drives. It can make the tedious, the monotonous a little bit more exciting. It can close the gap of distance in a heartbeat. If it could reach the pedals, it’d look at you and say, “honey, you look tired. I’ll get us there.”
Coffee goes best with a good book on a rainy day, warmth cupped in hands and reflecting back, “What do YOU want to do today?”
It’s an exhilaration, goosebumps and all.
Love and coffee.
I had been introduced to Jared and Kyle a few years back through my wife’s family (you know, the coffee drinkers) and quickly became friends. Recently, they had reached out about photographing them for their engagement portraits and, being as nice a couple as they are, they convinced me to step out of my retirement from weddings and engagement photography to capture a few photos at the Wachusett Dam & Reservoir in Clinton, MA.
I couldn’t have been happier. They even brought me coffee.
