In the gripping world of winter sports, few events rival the pulse of the XGames, and I’m currently embedded in the thick of it. This stint in Aspen, Colorado, comes as a thrilling encore to the productive beginning of my week spent in Denver, where I covered the Snowsports Industry of America (SIA) trade show — a significant congregation of industry players.
Working alongside the diligent crew from Newschoolers.com, we’ve taken up the challenge of documenting these pivotal winter events — a blend of sport, industry, and culture. The week kicked off in the heart of Denver, where we delved into the bustling aisles of the SIA trade show. It’s a venue that brims with innovation, where the freshest ideas in snowsports gear and apparel are unveiled. My coverage from the first day of the SIA trade show can be found here.
After two intense days in Denver, the adrenaline journey continued. We hightailed it to Aspen to join the electrifying atmosphere of the Winter XGames. Here, the world’s best athletes showcase their spectacular skills on snow, competing for prestige and glory.
Two of the most exciting events we covered were the Men’s Slopestyle Finals and the Men’s Superpipe Elimination. These events are at the heart of the XGames, where competitors dazzle audiences with their gravity-defying feats and impeccable technique. Both events were a riot of athletic prowess and high-flying stunts. It’s been a bit of a marathon recently, but a worthwhile adventure still!
