Back in June of 2013, I made a trip up to Vermont to meet with the staff at Basin Harbor and sort out the details for my wedding, which was just a couple of months away in August. While the trip was practical, I could not help but bring my camera along with me.
Somewhere in Shelburne, Vermont, I stumbled across this scene: a weathered barn with its patched-together siding, a rusted roof glowing in the sun, and tucked into the grass out front, a maroon Volkswagen sitting like it had been left to watch the years go by.
A mix of nostalgia and slow decay, where an old car and an old building somehow make each other look timeless. I couldn’t not stop.
