I’m tempted to start with a metaphor about hurricanes, tempests, and the like. But just like Lee, it doesn’t quite come together. That’s New England weather for you — unpredictable. You brace for the worst, and then the winds change, leaving you with a surprisingly pleasant day. It’s all out of your control.
But that wasn’t the case for the young players on the field this morning. Since August, I’ve seen them push through the heat, training hard for days like today when everything just “clicks.” It’s not left to chance; it’s the result of preparation and practice. The Franklin Panthers seized the day right from the outset. And while they celebrated their first win, what stood out was the commendable sportsmanship from both sides. Dedham might not have had things “click” for them like Franklin did, but their spirit and sportsmanship remained unwavering.
Below is a gallery of images from the morning’s action. A big shoutout to Dedham for hosting the Panthers!
